Motorbike Delivery at Bali Airport: How It Works and When It Makes Sense

What airport delivery costs and when it runs

Delivery to Ngurah Rai (DPS) is 200,000 IDR. That is the same fee as Ubud or Uluwatu when they fall outside the 20 km free-delivery radius around our office.

Delivery hours are 10:00 to 19:00; the office itself is open 09:00 to 20:00 daily. A flight landing at two in the morning cannot be met — and honestly, a first ride in an unfamiliar country, in the dark, straight off a long-haul flight, is not a good plan even if it could.

The luggage problem nobody mentions

This is the part that decides it, and most rental sites skip it.

A scooter has room under the seat for a helmet and a small bag. That is the whole storage. If you are arriving with a 23 kg suitcase, you physically cannot ride away with it — not safely, and not legally on the bypass.

Airport delivery works when:

• you travel with a backpack or soft bag;
• you are returning to Bali and left the bulk of your things here;
• there are two of you and one takes a taxi with the bags while the other rides.

If none of those apply, take a taxi to your villa or hotel and have the bike delivered there. It is free inside the 20 km radius on rentals of three days or more, which covers Kuta, Seminyak, Canggu, Jimbaran, Sanur, Denpasar and Kerobokan — and it saves you 200,000 IDR.

Airport delivery or hotel delivery

Both are available; the right one depends on your luggage and your landing time.

How to arrange it

1. Message us on WhatsApp with your flight number, landing time and terminal — international and domestic arrivals are different buildings.
2. Tell us which bike you want and for how long. Rentals start from three days.
3. We confirm the meeting point with you before the day.
4. On arrival, message us when you have cleared immigration and baggage. That is the moment the clock actually starts — passport control at DPS can take a while when several wide-bodies land together.
5. Handover takes a few minutes: two helmets, a look over the bike, photos, and the agreement.

A passport is all we need to hand over the bike. To ride legally you also need an International Driving Permit with category A — that one you cannot sort out at the airport, so arrange it before you fly, or ask us and we will arrange one in about three days.

Riding out of the airport

Ngurah Rai sits on the bypass, and the road out is busier and faster than the lanes you will be riding later. Worth knowing before you set off:

• The bypass moves. This is not the slow Canggu shuffle — traffic runs at a real pace and changes lanes freely.
• Left-hand traffic. If you are coming from a right-hand-drive country, the first roundabout is where it gets tested.
• Jet lag is real. Reaction time after a twelve-hour flight is not your normal reaction time.

How far things are from the airport

• Kuta — 10–20 minutes.
• Jimbaran — 15–25 minutes.
• Seminyak — 25–40 minutes.
• Uluwatu and the Bukit — 40–50 minutes.
• Canggu — 45–60 minutes.
• Ubud — 60–90 minutes.

Add time in the late afternoon; the bypass and the Sunset Road junctions slow down badly between 17:00 and 19:30.

Returning the bike before your flight

The same service works in reverse: we collect from the airport, and the same 200,000 IDR applies. The same luggage logic applies too — if you are flying out with a full suitcase, it is simpler for us to collect the bike from your accommodation on the morning you leave.

Leave margin. A bike return plus check-in plus DPS security on a busy evening is not the moment to be optimistic about timing.

When we would tell you not to bother

We would rather you arrive relaxed than pay us an extra 200,000 IDR.

Skip airport delivery if you land after 19:00, if you are travelling with checked luggage, if it is your first time riding on the left, or if you are heading straight to Ubud or the north — that is a long first ride at the end of a travel day. Take a taxi, sleep, and start on the bike in the morning with the delivery to your door.
