Iron Rent cancellation policy for motorcycle rental in Bali: what we need to hold your bike, what happens if you cancel, and how to change the bike instead of losing your prepayment.

How booking works
To hold a motorcycle for your dates we ask for two things: a photo of your passport and a prepayment equal to the security deposit. From that moment the exact bike is reserved for you and taken off sale for those dates. At handover the prepayment becomes your refundable security deposit, returned in the same currency it was paid in.
Everything else, the bike, dates, price, delivery and optional insurance, is confirmed in writing in WhatsApp before you pay.
The terms below apply to every booking; your WhatsApp booking summary repeats them for your exact bike and dates.
Cancellation and refunds

Change the bike instead of cancelling
- Before the rental starts you can change the booked motorcycle to another one in the same price category or a more expensive one.
- If the new bike is more expensive, you pay only the difference in rate. Your prepayment carries over to the new bike.
- Date changes are possible on request, subject to availability.
- Big bikes and long rentals have fewer free units, so ask for changes early.
Swap the bike during the rental
One of the most useful things about renting from us: you are not locked into one bike.
- During the rental you can swap to another motorcycle at any time: a different model, a bigger bike for a trip up the island, or back to a scooter for town.
- Each swap costs 100,000 IDR, which covers washing and preparing the bike. We bring the new bike and collect the old one.
- Swapping to a more expensive bike: you pay the difference in rate for the remaining days. Swapping to a cheaper one: the rental price stays the same.
- Subject to availability; a bigger bike also needs the right licence category.

Cancellation FAQ
What happens to my prepayment if I cancel?
Cancel 15 days or more before the rental starts and we refund the prepayment in full. Less than 15 days before, it is not refunded. If plans change, changing the bike or the dates instead keeps your prepayment working for you.
Can I change the bike instead of cancelling?
Yes. Before the rental starts you can switch to another bike in the same price category or a more expensive one, paying only the difference.
How much does it cost to swap the bike during the rental?
100,000 IDR per swap, for washing and preparing the bike. A pricier bike adds the difference in rate; a cheaper bike keeps the same price.
Can I cancel on the same day?
A same-day cancellation is well inside 15 days, so the prepaid deposit is not refunded. Message us anyway: we will try to move the dates or change the bike.
Can I shorten a monthly rental?
Unused days are not refunded after the rental starts. You can swap to another bike during the month for 100,000 IDR if the one you have no longer fits your plans.
