Pricing & payment
14 questions
How much does motorcycle rental cost in Bali?
Prices depend on the model, rental period and season. Scooters start from budget daily rates, while sport bikes, cruisers, adventure bikes and premium motorcycles cost more. Weekly and monthly rentals usually give better value.
Do you offer daily, weekly and monthly rental?
Yes. Iron Rent offers daily, weekly and long-term monthly motorcycle rental. Long-term rental is usually cheaper per day and works well for expats, digital nomads and long stays in Bali or Lombok.
Is there a deposit required?
Deposit terms can depend on the motorcycle model, rental length and insurance option. The team confirms the exact conditions before booking so there are no surprises at pickup or delivery.
What is included in the rental price?
The standard rental includes the motorcycle, helmet and basic handover support. Optional insurance, extra gear, delivery or special requests can be confirmed by WhatsApp before booking.
Can I pay by cash, card or bank transfer?
Payment options can include cash, card or bank transfer depending on the booking details. The team will confirm the best payment method when you reserve the motorcycle.
How does the price change with the rental length?
The daily rate falls the longer you rent: there are tariffs for 1 day, 2 days, 3–6, 7–12 and 13–29 days, and a flat monthly rate for 30 days. A shorter rental never costs more than a month, and rentals over 30 days are charged at the monthly per-day rate. Every model and tariff is on the prices page.
Can I pay by card, bank transfer or online?
Yes: we take cash in rupiah, cards, and bank transfer to the account of PT SOUL BIKES INDONESIA, our registered company. The terms for card payment are confirmed with you on WhatsApp before booking, so there is nothing to discover at handover. Bank transfer is the usual route for long rentals and for companies paying from a business account.
How much is the deposit, and can I pay it in dollars or euros?
The deposit depends on the bike class: 2,000,000 IDR for most scooters, 2,500,000–3,000,000 IDR for 250cc sport and naked bikes, and from 8,000,000 up to 15,000,000 IDR for big bikes above 600cc. The exact amount for each model is on the prices page. We accept the deposit in any currency and return it in the same currency you paid.
How much does a monthly rental cost?
From 2,000,000 IDR per month for a 125–160cc scooter, from 3,000,000 IDR for a 150–250cc naked or adventure bike, from 3,500,000 IDR for a sport bike and from 28,000,000 IDR for big bikes above 600cc. Servicing in our own workshop, two helmets, a phone holder and delivery within 20 km are included; exact prices per model are on the prices page.
Can I get a discount?
The way to pay less per day is a longer rental: the rate drops from 3 days, again from 7 and from 13 days, and the monthly rate is the lowest per day. For 22–30 days you pay the monthly price, never more. All tariffs are public on the prices page, and the total is confirmed in writing before you pay.
When do I get the deposit back?
The deposit is refundable and is returned in full when the bike comes back in the same condition it was handed over in, in the same currency you paid. If a repair is needed, the actual repair cost is deducted according to the damage policy, which is agreed in writing before the rental.
What exactly is included in the rental price?
Two helmets, a phone holder, servicing during the rental in our own workshop, and free delivery and collection within 20 km of the Kerobokan office on rentals of 3 days or more. Fuel is not included. Damage protection is optional and priced per bike class.
Is fuel included, and which fuel should I use?
Fuel is not included. Bikes from 150 to 250cc take at least Pertamax 92; 4-cylinder 250cc bikes and anything bigger take Pertamax Turbo 98. Pertalite is forbidden on all our bikes.
If I return the bike early, do I get money back for the unused days?
No. Once the rental has started, unused days are not refunded, including an early return. If the bike no longer fits your plans, you can swap it for another model during the rental for 100,000 IDR.
Delivery & offices
14 questions
Do you deliver motorcycles across Bali?
Yes. Iron Rent delivers motorcycles across Bali, including Canggu, Berawa, Pererenan, Seminyak, Kerobokan, Denpasar, Sanur, Ubud, Kuta, Legian, Jimbaran, Nusa Dua, Uluwatu, Tabanan, Amed, Candidasa, Lovina and Padang Bai.
Do you have an office in Bali and Lombok?
Yes. Iron Rent has two offices: one in Bali and one in Lombok. The Bali office is the main branch, and the Lombok office supports rentals, pickup and delivery around Lombok.
Can you deliver to Lombok?
Yes. Motorcycle rental and delivery are available in Lombok by arrangement, including Kuta Lombok, Mataram, Senggigi, Praya, Selong Belanak, Mawun, Gerupuk, Bangsal and the Gili Islands area.
Can I pick up the bike from the office?
Yes. You can pick up a motorcycle from the Iron Rent office. Office pickup is useful if you want to see the bike, ask questions, check documents and choose gear before riding.
Do you deliver to the airport, villa or hotel?
Delivery to villas, hotels and airport areas is available by arrangement. Send your location, date and time on WhatsApp so the team can confirm availability and delivery cost.
Is delivery free, and how much is it to my area?
Delivery and collection are free within 20 km of our Kerobokan office on rentals of 3 days or more: Canggu, Berawa, Pererenan, Seminyak, Kerobokan, Legian, Kuta, Jimbaran, Sanur and Denpasar. Nusa Dua is usually free; a few addresses are beyond 20 km, so we check yours first. Ubud and Uluwatu are free within 20 km and 200,000 IDR beyond; the airport is 200,000 IDR. For the rest of Bali and for rentals under 3 days, the fee depends on distance and rental length and is confirmed in WhatsApp before you pay.
What time will the bike be delivered?
Deliveries run daily between 10:00 and 19:00. You agree the address and time with the team in WhatsApp, and both are confirmed in writing together with the cost before you pay. Send a Google Maps pin or the villa or hotel name so the driver finds you without delay.
Can you deliver a bike today?
Often yes, within the delivery hours of 10:00–19:00, if the model you want is free and the address is in our delivery area. Send the model, your location and the time you need it, and the team confirms right away what is possible today. Same-day delivery still needs the passport photo and prepayment first.
Where is your office and when is it open?
The Bali office is at Jl. Raya Semer No. 38, Kerobokan, open daily 09:00–20:00; our own workshop, wash, gear shop and café are at the same address. Deliveries run 10:00–19:00. The Lombok office is in Kuta Lombok, next to the Mandalika circuit.
How do I return the bike at the end of the rental?
We collect the bike from your villa, hotel or any address in Bali at the end of the rental; collection is free within 20 km of the office on rentals of 3 days or more and follows the same 10:00–19:00 hours as delivery. Agree the time in the same WhatsApp chat, or bring the bike to the office in Kerobokan, open daily 09:00–20:00.
Can you deliver late in the evening or at night?
No. Deliveries run 10:00–19:00 and the office is open 09:00–20:00. If you arrive late, the simplest option is delivery to your accommodation the next morning, which is free within 20 km on rentals of 3 days or more.
Do you have bikes in Lombok, and can I take a Bali bike there?
Since July 2026 Iron Rent has its own office and a separate fleet in Kuta Lombok, next to the Mandalika circuit; Lombok bikes are booked separately from the Bali fleet, and delivery is free within Kuta Lombok town. Taking a Bali rental bike to Lombok, Java or any other island needs our written approval in advance; without it the damage protection does not apply.
How does delivery to the airport work?
We deliver to Ngurah Rai airport for 200,000 IDR, between 10:00 and 19:00. Send your flight number and terminal on WhatsApp and we confirm the meeting point in advance. With checked luggage it is easier to take a taxi to your accommodation and have the bike delivered there. Returning the bike at the airport before your flight costs the same 200,000 IDR.
Can I take the bike to Nusa Penida or the Gili Islands?
Only with Iron Rent's permission in advance, otherwise the damage protection does not apply and you are fully responsible for the bike. The fast boats from Sanur carry passengers only, and motor vehicles are not allowed on the Gili Islands at all. For most people it is simpler to go as a passenger and rent locally; your Bali rental continues while the bike is parked at your accommodation.
Documents & riding rules
9 questions
What documents do I need to rent a motorcycle?
You normally need a passport or ID, a valid driving licence and an International Driving Permit with motorcycle category. Requirements can vary by bike type and rental terms.
Do I need an International Driving Permit in Bali?
For legal riding, you should have a valid driving licence and International Driving Permit with motorcycle category. This is especially important for police checks and insurance questions.
Are helmets included?
Yes. A helmet is included with the motorcycle rental. Extra helmets or special gear can be requested before pickup or delivery.
Can I ride with a passenger?
Yes, if the motorcycle is suitable for two people and both riders use helmets. For longer rides, choose a motorcycle with enough comfort and power for passenger travel.
Do I sign a rental agreement?
Yes. Iron Rent uses a rental agreement so the motorcycle, dates, responsibility, insurance options and return terms are clear before the rental starts.
Can I ride off-road, on the beach or on dirt tracks?
Only on our enduro and dual-sport bikes: Honda CRF150L, Kawasaki KLX 150, KLX 230, KLX 230 SE and KLX 230 SM. Every other bike, including scooters, sport and naked bikes, cruisers and the CB500X and Versys 650, stays on tarmac. Damage protection terms apply off-road as usual.
Can I rent with only a passport, without a licence or IDP?
To rent from us, a passport is enough. To ride legally in Indonesia you need your national licence with the motorcycle category plus an International Driving Permit; a car-only licence is not enough. Without them you risk fines at police checks, and the damage protection does not apply in an accident. We help arrange an IDP through our partner, the International Drivers Association.
Can two people ride on one bike?
Yes, one rider plus one passenger is legal and normal in Bali, and two helmets come with every rental. For two adults choose 150cc or more, such as a Honda PCX 160 or Yamaha NMAX 155; a 125cc scooter struggles on hills with two aboard. The passenger does not need a licence; only the rider does.
Can my partner or friend also ride the bike?
The damage protection covers only the rider named in the rental contract. If someone else is riding at the time of an accident, the protection does not apply and the renter pays the full repair. Tell the team before booking if more than one person plans to ride, so the paperwork can be arranged correctly.
Insurance & support
8 questions
Is insurance available?
Yes. Optional insurance is available for many rentals. The team explains what is covered, what is not covered and which option fits your motorcycle and route.
What happens if the motorcycle has a problem?
Contact Iron Rent immediately through WhatsApp or Telegram. The support and service team will help with the next steps depending on the issue, location and rental conditions.
Can I add extra protection or gear?
Yes. You can ask about optional insurance, extra helmet, phone holder, luggage solutions or riding gear before confirming your booking.
What if the bike breaks down or gets a flat tyre?
Message us on WhatsApp straight away and do not keep riding or try to repair it yourself. Servicing and repairs during the rental are our responsibility and are done in our own workshop in Kerobokan, including wear items such as oil, brake pads and tyres. The team tells you the next step depending on where you are and what happened.
How much is the insurance and what do 5% and 30% mean?
Damage protection is optional and priced per bike class; the team confirms the price for your bike and dates in writing before you pay. With MAX you pay your deposit plus 5% of the remaining repair cost, with MIN your deposit plus 30%, and Iron Rent covers the rest. Example: a repair of 50,000,000 IDR with a 5,000,000 IDR deposit on MAX costs you 5,000,000 + 2,500,000 = 7,500,000 IDR.
What should I do after an accident?
Stop safely, do not move the bike, and contact Iron Rent immediately from the scene by phone or WhatsApp so our team can come and document it. Take photos and videos of both vehicles, the road position, the damage and the plates, and do not agree to any payment or repair with the other party before we arrive. Reporting from the scene, being sober and being the named rider are the conditions for the protection to apply.
What does the protection not cover?
It covers the rented motorcycle only, not third parties, other vehicles or your medical costs. It does not apply if the rider was under alcohol or drugs, if someone other than the named rider was riding, if the accident was not reported from the scene, or if the bike was used outside the agreed conditions, such as off-road on a road bike or on another island without approval.
Do you provide a raincoat, and does the rental pause on rainy days?
A raincoat is not part of the rental kit; every rental includes two helmets and a phone holder. A poncho from a minimarket such as Indomaret or Alfamart does the job, and you can ask what our gear shop in Kerobokan has in stock. Rental days run as booked whatever the weather.
Motorcycles & fleet
10 questions
What motorcycles can I rent?
Iron Rent offers scooters, sport bikes, naked bikes, cruisers, adventure motorcycles, touring bikes and premium big bikes. The catalog includes options for city riding, beach trips, mountain roads and long-distance touring.
Do you rent big bikes in Bali?
Yes. Big bikes and premium motorcycles are one of the main specialties of Iron Rent. Availability changes, so it is best to ask for current models on WhatsApp.
Which bike is best for a beginner?
For beginners or relaxed city riding, a scooter or easy automatic model is usually better. For experienced riders, sport, naked, cruiser and adventure bikes are available.
Can I rent a motorcycle for MotoGP or Mandalika?
Yes. Iron Rent can help with motorcycles and track-related trips around Lombok and Mandalika by arrangement. Ask the team about current packages and suitable bikes.
What condition are the bikes in, and can I see photos?
Every bike has its own page in the catalogue with photos, specs and prices. The fleet is maintained in our own workshop at the Kerobokan office, and servicing during your rental, including oil, brake pads and tyres as they wear, is included. The exact bike, its colour and all terms are confirmed in writing before you pay, and you can also see the bikes at the office, open daily 09:00–20:00.
What do I need to rent a big bike of 600cc or more?
The fleet includes the Kawasaki Z650, Z900, Ninja 650, Ninja ZX-6R and ZX-10R, Honda CB650R, CBR650R and Rebel 1100, Kawasaki Versys 650 and Benelli 502C. To ride them legally you need a licence with the motorcycle category plus an IDP; deposits are higher, from 8,000,000 IDR, and these bikes run on Pertamax Turbo 98. Big bikes have fewer units, so book and ask for changes early.
Can I change to a different bike during the rental?
Yes, at any time and as many times as you need, subject to availability. Each swap costs 100,000 IDR for washing and preparing the bike; we bring the new bike and collect the old one anywhere in Bali. Moving to a more expensive bike, you pay the difference in rate for the remaining days; moving to a cheaper one, the price stays the same. A bigger bike also needs the right licence category.
Can I add a surfboard rack, top case or other luggage?
A side surfboard rack can be fitted to any scooter in the fleet as an add-on; tell us your board length when you book and we confirm the price with the rest of the rental. Racks suit shortboards and mid-lengths, and never go on sport bikes or big motorcycles. For a top case or other luggage options, ask the team when booking and they will confirm what is available for your model.
I have never ridden a motorbike. Can I still rent, and will you show me how?
Yes. Start on an automatic scooter of 110–160cc such as a Honda Scoopy, Yamaha Fazzio, Honda PCX or Yamaha NMAX, not on a manual or a sport bike. At handover our team explains and shows the basics for free: throttle, brakes, pulling away and parking. For more confidence, our partners run a paid 4-hour course on a closed range; details on WhatsApp.
Do you have helmets in different sizes, full-face or for children?
Two helmets come with every rental as standard. Children's sizes are not part of the standard kit, but our gear shop at the Kerobokan office stocks licensed kids' helmets and other gear; Iron Rent is an official Bali dealer for Shoei, Nolan, HJC, KYT and MDS. Tell the team your sizes or special requests when booking.
Booking process
10 questions
How do I book a motorcycle?
The fastest way is to send a message on WhatsApp with your dates, motorcycle type, pickup or delivery location and any insurance or gear requests. The team confirms availability and price.
How fast do you reply?
The team usually replies quickly during working hours. For faster confirmation, send the exact dates, area, preferred motorcycle model and whether you need delivery.
Can I reserve a specific motorcycle model?
Yes, if the model is available for your dates. If the exact motorcycle is already booked, the team can suggest a similar option from the fleet.
Is a specific model available for my dates?
Send your dates, the model and your delivery area on WhatsApp or Telegram and the team checks the live fleet. If that exact bike is already booked, we offer a similar model from the same class. The catalogue shows every bike with photos, specs and prices.
What do I need to send to book a bike?
Two things: a photo of your passport and a prepayment equal to the security deposit. From that moment the exact bike is reserved for you and taken off sale for your dates. Bike, dates, price, delivery and optional protection are confirmed in writing in WhatsApp before you pay. We never hold your original passport.
Can I choose the colour of the bike?
Yes. The catalogue lists each bike individually, including its colour, and after the passport photo and prepayment that exact bike is reserved for you. If the colour you want is booked for your dates, the team offers the other colours of the same model.
Can I extend my rental?
Yes. Message us in the same WhatsApp chat before the rental ends; extensions depend on the bike not being booked by someone else for those dates. Monthly rentals can be extended month by month, and the team confirms the rate for the extra days in writing.
Can I come to the office to see the bikes first?
Yes. The Bali office at Jl. Raya Semer No. 38, Kerobokan is open daily 09:00–20:00: you can look at the bikes, ask the team questions and choose gear. You can also pick up the bike there instead of having it delivered.
Do I pay everything now or at delivery?
To hold the bike we ask only for a prepayment equal to the deposit; at handover it becomes your refundable security deposit. The rental price, delivery and protection are confirmed in writing in your WhatsApp booking summary before you pay anything.
Can I cancel a booking and get my prepayment back?
Cancel 15 days or more before the start and the prepayment is refunded in full. Less than 15 days before, it is not refunded, because the bike was held for you. Instead of cancelling you can change the bike or move the dates, and your prepayment carries over.
