Motorcycle rental in Bali

Iron Rent has rented motorcycles in Bali since 2019, as PT SOUL BIKES INDONESIA, with 112 models in the fleet — from 125cc scooters to a Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R — and our own workshop, wash and gear shop. Rated 4.9 from 417 Google reviews.

Delivery is free anywhere within 20 km of our office on rentals of three days or more, which covers Kuta, Seminyak, Canggu, Jimbaran, Sanur, Denpasar and Kerobokan. Ubud, Uluwatu and the airport are 200,000 IDR when they fall outside that radius. Delivery runs 10:00–19:00; the office is open 09:00–20:00 daily.

What you need to rent

A passport, a WhatsApp contact, a delivery address and a refundable deposit. That is all we ask for to hand over the bike — we do not hold your passport.

Riding legally is a separate question: Indonesian law requires an International Driving Permit with category A alongside your national licence. Without it you risk a fine at a police check, and an insurer can refuse a claim after an accident. If you do not have a permit, we arrange one in about three days.

Rental prices in Bali, 2026

Prices depend on how long you rent, not on where you are. The longer the rental, the lower the daily rate.

Class Per day, 3–6 days Per day, 7–14 days Per month
Scooters 125–160cc from 200,000 IDR from 150,000 IDR from 2,000,000 IDR
Naked 250 from 300,000 IDR from 200,000 IDR from 3,000,000 IDR
Adventure / trail from 300,000 IDR from 200,000 IDR from 3,000,000 IDR
Sport from 350,000 IDR from 270,000 IDR from 3,500,000 IDR
Cruiser from 750,000 IDR from 650,000 IDR from 8,000,000 IDR

Every rental includes two helmets, free delivery and collection, and servicing for the whole rental period in our own workshop. Insurance is optional with two deductible levels. Fuel is not included; a scooter tank is four to five litres and lasts well over 200 km.

Which bike to choose

  • Staying in the south (Canggu, Seminyak, Kuta). A 125–160cc automatic scooter. Traffic is dense and slow; a small automatic is genuinely the quickest way through it.
  • Ubud and inland. 150cc as a minimum, more if you ride two-up. The hills are the reason.
  • Uluwatu and the Bukit. A maxi scooter or a 250 — the roads are long and fast.
  • Touring the north and east. An adventure 250 such as the Versys-X or V-Strom 250 SX.
  • Track days and coast roads. Sport bikes, up to the ZX-10R.

Areas we deliver to

  • Free: Kuta, Seminyak, Canggu, Jimbaran, Sanur, Denpasar, Kerobokan — and any address within 20 km of the office on rentals of 3 days or more.
  • 200,000 IDR: Ubud, Uluwatu and Ngurah Rai airport when beyond 20 km. Nusa Dua is usually free — we check the exact address first.
  • Lombok: a separate office in Kuta, by the Mandalika circuit.

Questions we get about renting in Bali

How much does it cost to rent a motorbike in Bali?

Scooters from 200,000 IDR a day on a 3–6 day rental and from 2,000,000 IDR a month. Sport bikes from 350,000 IDR a day, cruisers from 750,000 IDR, and big bikes above 600cc from 28,000,000 IDR a month. Every model’s exact price is in the catalogue.

What documents do I need to rent a motorbike in Bali?

A passport is enough to rent. To ride legally you need your national licence and an International Driving Permit with category A. We can arrange the permit in about three days if you do not have one.

Is a deposit required?

Yes, and it is refundable when the bike comes back in the condition it went out. Insurance is optional, with two deductible levels.

Do you deliver the bike?

Yes. Free within 20 km of the office on rentals of three days or more, which covers most of the south. Ubud, Uluwatu and the airport are 200,000 IDR when they fall outside that radius.

Can I rent for a month?

Yes — a monthly rate is about 2.5 times cheaper per day than daily hire, from 2,000,000 IDR a month for a scooter. On a long-term rental you can also swap the bike for another model at any point for 100,000 IDR plus any difference in rate.

What happens if the bike is damaged?

Minor scratches are the usual case, not crashes. What is covered depends on whether you took insurance and which deductible; the full policy is on our damage page. Servicing and mechanical faults during the rental are ours, not yours.
