Adventure Motorcycle Rental in Bali

Adventure bikes are the tool for Bali’s long days: upright seating, longer suspension for broken tarmac, and room for a passenger and a bag. We rent the Honda CB150X, Honda CB500X and Kawasaki Versys 650 from our office in Kerobokan.

Adventure Motorcycle Rental in Bali

Most of Bali’s classic rides leave the coast quickly: up to Kintamani and Lake Batur, across the Bedugul highlands to Munduk, out east to Sidemen and Amed. Roads climb for long stretches, the surface can change from new asphalt to patched concrete within a kilometre, and potholes reappear after every rainy season. An upright position, wide bars and longer suspension make those hours far less tiring than on a sport bike or a scooter.

Adventure bikes also suit two-up riding. The seats are wider and flatter, and the CB500X and Versys 650 have enough torque to climb to Kintamani with a passenger without constant gear changes.

The CB150X is for riders stepping up from scooters who want the upright position without the size. The CB500X and Versys 650 are taller, heavier bikes for riders with real motorcycle experience. A passport is all you need to rent; to ride legally you need your national licence with the motorcycle category and an International Driving Permit.

Models in our fleet

  • Honda CB150X — a 149cc single with adventure styling, a screen and an upright riding position; light and easy for riders moving up from scooters.
  • Honda CB500X — a 471cc parallel twin with a 19-inch front wheel and relaxed ergonomics, a calm all-rounder for long days and two-up rides.
  • Kawasaki Versys 650 — a 649cc parallel twin with an adjustable screen and a comfortable, upright position, the most touring-oriented bike in this class.

Where it makes sense

  • Kintamani and Lake Batur — long climbs, cool air and views over the caldera, 1.5–2.5 hours from Kerobokan
  • Bedugul, Lake Tamblingan and Munduk — a twisting mountain road that often runs through cloud, 2–2.5 hours from Kerobokan
  • Sidemen valley and the east coast to Amed — rice terraces, then a coast road over steep headlands, 2.5–3.5 hours to Amed
  • Jatiluwih rice terraces via Tabanan — narrow, patched roads where the suspension earns its keep, 1.5–2 hours
  • West coast to Medewi — the main road with trucks and buses, where comfort over distance matters, 2–2.5 hours from Kerobokan

Honest riding tips

  • Leave early. Cloud builds over Kintamani and Bedugul from late morning, and afternoon rain in the mountains is common in the wet season, roughly November to March.
  • Fuel. the CB150X takes at least Pertamax 92; the CB500X and Versys 650 need Pertamax Turbo 98. Pertalite is forbidden. Fill up in town before the mountain stretches.
  • These bikes are for roads, not trails. A gravel access road to a viewpoint is fine at walking pace; beaches, sand and off-road tracks are prohibited by the rental contract.
  • The CB500X and Versys 650 are tall and heavy. Stop on level ground where you can, and take care when parking on the slopes of mountain villages.

Questions we get

How much does it cost to rent an adventure bike in Bali?

Adventure bikes start from 300,000 IDR per day, and monthly rentals from 3,000,000 IDR. The longer the rental, the lower the daily rate, and a month never costs more than the monthly rate. The refundable deposit is returned in the same currency you paid it in.

What licence do I need to ride an adventure bike in Bali?

To rent, a passport is enough. To ride legally in Indonesia you need your national licence with the motorcycle category plus an International Driving Permit (IDP). If you don’t have an IDP yet, we help arrange one through our partner International Drivers Association.

Do you deliver adventure bikes?

Delivery and pickup are free within 20 km of our Kerobokan office on rentals of 3 days or more: Canggu, Berawa, Pererenan, Seminyak, Kerobokan, Legian, Kuta, Jimbaran, Sanur and Denpasar. Nusa Dua is usually free, but a few addresses are beyond 20 km, so we confirm yours first. Ubud and Uluwatu are free within 20 km, otherwise 200,000 IDR; the airport is 200,000 IDR. We also deliver to the rest of Bali: the fee depends on distance and rental length and is confirmed on WhatsApp before you pay. For rentals under 3 days delivery is paid, and we confirm the price before booking. Deliveries run 10:00–19:00.

Can we ride the Kintamani loop two-up?

Yes. The CB500X and Versys 650 carry a passenger comfortably and have enough torque for the climb. The CB150X can do it too, but more slowly, and it feels the load on the steepest sections. Two helmets come with every rental.

Can I change bikes during a long rental?

Yes. A swap costs 100,000 IDR (washing and preparing the bike). If you move to a pricier bike, you pay the difference; if you move to a cheaper one, your rental price stays the same. Servicing during the rental is done in our own workshop.
