Iron Rent vs a typical Bali rental
Bali has hundreds of motorbike rentals, from a family with three scooters to registered companies. Here is what usually differs — and where we stand on each point — so you can compare on facts rather than on the price alone.
What this page compares
A registered company, not a roadside stand
Iron Rent is PT SOUL BIKES INDONESIA, a registered Indonesian company with a signed rental agreement, a tax number and a physical office in Kerobokan since 2019. Many Bali rentals are informal: no contract, cash only, and no one to call when something goes wrong. That is fine until it isn’t — a police stop, a crash, a dispute over a scratch.

The typical column describes what riders most often report about small informal rentals in Bali. It is a generalisation — there are good small operators too.

And the price?
A small roadside rental will often be cheaper per day for a Scoopy — and if all you need is a scooter for two days to reach the beach, that can be a perfectly good choice. Our prices are competitive for what is included: helmets, delivery, servicing, insurance options and someone who answers the phone. On monthly rentals and on anything bigger than a scooter, we are usually the better value once you count what the cheap option leaves out.

Comparison questions
Is Iron Rent the cheapest motorbike rental in Bali?
No, and we do not try to be. Roadside rentals can be cheaper per day for a scooter. We are usually the better value on monthly rentals and on motorcycles above 150cc, once helmets, delivery, servicing and insurance options are counted.
Do I need to leave my passport as a deposit?
No. Our deposit is money, refundable, in any currency. We never hold a passport.
What makes Iron Rent different from other Bali rentals?
A registered company with a written contract, a published insurance and damage policy, a fleet of 246+ motorcycles up to 1000cc, own workshop, free delivery and support in several languages.
How do I check a rental is legitimate?
Ask for the company name and a written contract, check Google reviews, and make sure the bike has current registration papers (STNK). If they want to keep your passport, walk away.
