Naked Motorcycle Rental in Bali

Upright seating and wide bars make a naked bike easier to steer through Canggu and Seminyak traffic than a sport bike, and more engaging on the open road than a scooter. Without a fairing you get more airflow in the heat, and the bikes are easier to park and turn in narrow lanes.

The class covers very different machines. The XSR 155, MT-25 and Duke 250 are light, forgiving bikes for riders moving up from scooters or who ride smaller bikes at home. The MT-03, Duke 390, Z650 and CB500F add real overtaking pace for trips to Uluwatu, Bedugul or the east coast. The CB650R and Z900 are four-cylinder bikes for experienced riders.

Whatever the size, a passport is enough to rent. To ride legally in Indonesia you need your national licence with the motorcycle category plus an International Driving Permit.

Models in our fleet

  • Yamaha XSR 155 — a 155cc liquid-cooled single with neo-retro styling; we also have custom builds, including one bored out to about 190cc.
  • Yamaha MT-25 — a 249cc parallel twin with upright bars, light and smooth, a comfortable step onto a manual motorcycle.
  • Yamaha MT-03 — the same light chassis with a 321cc twin, with more pull for climbs and overtakes.
  • KTM Duke 250 — a 249cc single, light and sharp-steering, for riders who like a lively, direct feel.
  • KTM Duke 390 — a 373cc single with strong mid-range for its weight; quick and agile, for riders with some experience.
  • Kawasaki Z650 — a 649cc parallel twin with easy, torquey delivery, a practical middleweight for day trips.
  • Honda CB500F — a 471cc parallel twin, calm and predictable, a natural step up from 250s.
  • Honda CB650R — a 649cc inline-four in neo-retro café style, smooth and eager to rev, for experienced riders.
  • Kawasaki Z900 — a 948cc inline-four, the most powerful naked in our Bali fleet, for experienced riders only.

Where it makes sense

  • Canggu, Berawa and Pererenan — dense, slow traffic and narrow lanes where upright bars help, 10–20 minutes from Kerobokan
  • Uluwatu and the Bukit — the wide bypass south of Jimbaran, then clifftop roads, 40–60 minutes from Kerobokan
  • Tanah Lot to Kedungu and Soka on the west coast — open bends and rice-field views, 40–90 minutes from Canggu
  • Bedugul via Baturiti — long climbing bends where the middleweights come into their own, 1.5–2 hours from Kerobokan
  • Sanur to Keramas and Klungkung along the east coast bypass — flat and fast, 45–75 minutes from Kerobokan

Honest riding tips

  • No wind protection. on the bypass or the toll road you take the full wind and rain. Carry a rain jacket; afternoon showers are common in the wet season.
  • Fuel. the XSR 155, MT-25 and Duke 250 take at least Pertamax 92; the MT-03, Duke 390 and everything larger need Pertamax Turbo 98. Pertalite is forbidden.
  • Town traffic is slow. The big twins and fours feel restrained in Canggu; their pace belongs on open roads, not in shortcut lanes full of scooters and dogs.
  • Optional damage protection comes in two levels, MAX and MIN. It covers only the rented bike, not people or third parties, and only if the accident is reported from the scene, the rider is sober and is the named rider.

Questions we get

How much does it cost to rent a naked bike in Bali?

Naked bikes start from 300,000 IDR per day, and monthly rentals from 3,000,000 IDR. The price depends on the model; the longer the rental, the lower the daily rate, and a month never costs more than the monthly rate. The refundable deposit is returned in the same currency you paid it in.

What licence do I need to ride a naked bike in Bali?

To rent, a passport is enough. To ride legally in Indonesia you need your national licence with the motorcycle category plus an International Driving Permit (IDP). If you don’t have an IDP yet, we help arrange one through our partner International Drivers Association.

Do you deliver naked bikes?

Delivery and pickup are free within 20 km of our Kerobokan office on rentals of 3 days or more: Canggu, Berawa, Pererenan, Seminyak, Kerobokan, Legian, Kuta, Jimbaran, Sanur and Denpasar. Nusa Dua is usually free, but a few addresses are beyond 20 km, so we confirm yours first. Ubud and Uluwatu are free within 20 km, otherwise 200,000 IDR; the airport is 200,000 IDR. We also deliver to the rest of Bali: the fee depends on distance and rental length and is confirmed on WhatsApp before you pay. For rentals under 3 days delivery is paid, and we confirm the price before booking. Deliveries run 10:00–19:00.

Which naked bike should I choose?

Bali traffic is not the place to learn clutch control from zero. With some manual experience, the XSR 155, MT-25 or Duke 250 are light and forgiving. Step up to the MT-03, Duke 390, Z650 or CB500F if you ride 300–500cc bikes at home, and choose the CB650R or Z900 only if you have ridden large bikes before.

Can I swap to a different bike during the rental?

Yes. A swap costs 100,000 IDR (washing and preparing the bike). If you move to a pricier bike, you pay the difference; if you move to a cheaper one, your rental price stays the same. Servicing during the rental is done in our own workshop.
