Denpasar is Bali’s capital and its working city: government offices in Renon, markets, schools, hospitals and residential neighbourhoods, with few tourist hotels. People who stay here are usually working, studying or on a long stay, and they ride the way locals do: every day, in real traffic.
Denpasar is inside our free zone: delivery and pickup are free on rentals of 3 days or more (within 20 km of our Kerobokan office). For rentals under 3 days delivery is paid, and the price is confirmed before booking. Deliveries run 10:00–19:00.
A passport is all you need to rent. To ride legally in Indonesia you need your national licence with the motorcycle category plus an International Driving Permit; we can help you arrange an IDP through our partner International Drivers Association.
For commuting across the city a Honda Scoopy or Yamaha Fazzio 125 is easy to park and light on fuel, while a Honda PCX 160 or Yamaha NMAX 155 is more comfortable for longer daily distances. The Honda ADV 160 handles potholes and speed bumps best. If you are staying for weeks, a monthly rental is much cheaper per day.
At weekends Denpasar is a good start for trips north and east. A Honda CB150X is an affordable adventure bike for Ubud and Bedugul, a Honda CB500X or Kawasaki Versys 650 is more relaxed with a passenger and luggage, and a Honda Rebel 500 or Benelli 502C suits unhurried rides.
