Motorcycle & Scooter Rental in Kerobokan and Umalas

Kerobokan and Umalas sit between Seminyak and Canggu: villa neighbourhoods, rice fields slowly giving way to houses, and roads that are calmer than the coast but busy at the main junctions. Long-stay visitors, families renting villas and people working remotely make up much of the area, and Seminyak’s restaurants and Canggu’s beaches are a short ride away.

This is where our office is: Jl. Raya Semer No. 38, Kerobokan, open daily 09:00โ€“20:00. You can pick up your bike there yourself, and the workshop, motorcycle wash, cafรฉ and gear shop are on the same site. Delivery and pickup in Kerobokan and Umalas are free on rentals of 3 days or more; for rentals under 3 days delivery is paid and the price is confirmed before booking. Deliveries run 10:00โ€“19:00.

A passport is all you need to rent. To ride legally in Indonesia you need your national licence with the motorcycle category plus an International Driving Permit; we can help you arrange an IDP through our partner International Drivers Association.

What the roads are like

  • Jl. Raya Kerobokan. The main road through Kerobokan links Seminyak with Canggu and is congested most afternoons, roughly 16:00โ€“19:00. Side roads are often quicker.
  • Umalas lanes. Jl. Umalas and Jl. Bumbak are narrow, with villa gates, construction trucks and blind corners between walls. Ride slowly and use the horn at bends.
  • Rice-field roads. Some small concrete roads through the fields are one lane wide with a drop to the paddy on either side; when you meet a car, one of you has to stop.
  • Night and dogs. Many lanes in Umalas are unlit, and dogs guard villa gates and sleep on the road.
  • Rain. Wet-season downpours flood low sections quickly, and mud washed out of building sites makes the surface slippery.

Which bike to choose

The whole Bali fleet is based here, so Kerobokan is the easiest place to choose. For daily riding through Umalas lanes a Honda Scoopy, Yamaha Fazzio 125, Yamaha NMAX 155 or Honda PCX 160 is ideal; the Honda ADV 160 copes best with broken concrete and speed bumps.

Kerobokan is also a practical start for longer rides west and north. A Honda CB500X or Kawasaki Versys 650 suits trips to Jatiluwih and Bedugul, a Honda Rebel 1100 or Benelli 502C makes a relaxed cruise to Tanah Lot, and a Kawasaki KLX 230 handles steep, broken village roads. Sport riders can collect a Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R or ZX-10R straight from the office.

Where to ride from here

  • Seminyak โ€” 10โ€“20 minutes, parking fills up in the evening around Jl. Petitenget.
  • Canggu and Berawa โ€” 15โ€“25 minutes, the main roads are slow in the late afternoon.
  • Tanah Lot โ€” 40โ€“60 minutes through villages and rice fields, arrive before the sunset crowds.
  • Jatiluwih rice terraces โ€” 1.5โ€“2 hours, the last part climbs steadily, so a bigger bike or maxi-scooter makes it easier with two.
  • Bedugul and the lakes โ€” 1.5โ€“2 hours, cool and often misty at the top; bring a jacket.
